I can't use procdump on Fedora 43 because every time it terminates very early with the following output: $ sudo procdump dummy ProcDump v0.0.0 - Sysinternals process dump utility Copyright (C) 2024 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Licensed under the MIT license. Mark Russinovich, Mario Hewardt, John Salem, Javid Habibi Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com Monitors one or more processes and writes a core dump file when the processes exceeds the specified criteria. *** buffer overflow detected ***: terminated Aborted sudo procdump dummy (note the ProcDump v0.0.0 in the output despite the version of the tool is 3.5.0 - not sure if it matters). I have fully updated Fedora 43 (kernel 6.18.13-200.fc43.x86_64). I use procdump from Fedora repository. Both versions available in the repo get aborted in the same way: procdump.x86_64 3.4.0-2.fc43 fedora procdump.x86_64 3.5.0-1.fc43 updates Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install 'procdump' with 'sudo dnf install procdump' 2. run 'sudo procdump dummy' and see it being aborted Actual Results: Program is aborted with message: *** buffer overflow detected ***: terminated Aborted sudo procdump dummy Expected Results: Program does not get aborted due to buffer overflow. Additional Information: RHEL8 binaries from ProcDump repo https://github.com/microsoft/ProcDump-for-Linux/releases/download/3.5.0/procdump-3.5.0-0.el8.x86_64.rpm work OK in Fedora, it's only a problem with native Fedora packages.
