Please branch and build python-cliff for EPEL10
https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/82128
Currently you will only be able to bulid for 10.3 which is a long way away. Waiting for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2447757 may make sense.
I'm going to re-open this since its important the block is in place until the package actually exists for next package to build against.
Hello Steve, Yeah you did it right, thank you
Good news python-stevedore is now on the way for 10.3, 10.2 and 10.1. In case unaware to request branches for this package for 10.1 and 10.2 it is fedpkg request-branch --no-auto-module epel10.2 and fedpkg request-branch --no-auto-module epel10.1
I requested the branches https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/82163 https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/82164
So good news this morning: * 10.2 builds okay as a scratch build https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=143505002 * 10.3 builds okay as a scratch build https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=143505000 * 10.1 fails dues to a lack of DEBUG util.py:459: No matching package to install: 'python3dist(autopage) >= 0.4' DEBUG util.py:459: No matching package to install: 'python3dist(cmd2) >= 1' RHEL 10.2 is expected in a month or two I guess. Building now for 10.2 and 10.3 makes sense I would say More generally I was looking at this to try and understand how the openstack releases are stitched together in Fedora (EPEL). Many of the openstack packages in Fedora seem to be on Dalmation versions. Are updates to Flamingo co-ordinated somewhere?
Hello Steve, Yes, the major part of the OpenStack packages were synced from Dalmatian and have not been updated since then. It's because the remaining maintainers of the OpenStack SIG [1] have moved to other projects since the OpenStack Dalmatian release. Actually, there is a discussion on fedora-devel ML [2] that tries to address the lack of maintainers. Maybe you can chime in there ? I see you're very active on the EPEL part. Joel, That's the thread discussion I was looking for following the RDO changes, replying now. Given: * 10.1 probably cannot have Dalmation * Gazpacho is a closer than 10.2 It might make sense to stop here for now. Though using that window to make sure everything in place for "easy" upgrade might also be good. Steve.
