With Fedora Linux 44 switching to PLM for KDE variants, SSSD needs to be aware of this and whitelist the plasmalogin PAM service for it. I've got a patch submitted upstream for it: https://github.com/SSSD/sssd/pull/8506 Reproducible: Always
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 44-final by Fedora user ngompa using the blocker tracking app because: This is necessary for KDE variants using Plasma Login Manager to work properly with AD enterprise login configured through SSSD.
Discussed in a blocker review meeting [1] on 2026-03-09. The outcome was: !agreed 2445393 - AcceptedFreezeException (Final) - this is accepted as a significant improvement/fix for enterprise login on KDE that can't be fully achieved with a post-release update [1] https://meetbot-raw.fedoraproject.org//blocker-review_matrix_fedoraproject-org/
