Description of problem:
Fresh install of F7 , DELL Optiplex GX520. Fedora up2date until 15/06/2007 with
autofs-autofs-5.0.1-16. 
when I insert 1 dvd these are the output from lshal --monitor,/var/log/messages
and udevmonitor
[root@CI5724 ~]# lshal --monitor

Start monitoring devicelist:

13:24:24.728: volume_label_Fedora_7_i386_DVD added
/var/log/messages and udevmonitor: no output...and no volume mount is done nor
dvd icon in the desktop
 If I run gnome-mount -d /dev/scd0 in console window this happend:

from lshal:

No mount and no device icon on the desktop
I I run gnome-mount -d /dev/sdb1
From lshal:

The user that done all these step is root and gnome desktop.

Looks like you're logged in as root - we (currently) refuse to automount for
root; design decision. Thanks.
