A recent update to KDE Plasma has broken the window move functionality in kdotool (see URL). This is fixed in kdotool 0.2.2. Fedora 43 currently has kdotool 0.2.1 in the repo, so I would like to request an update to kdotool 0.2.2 to resolve the issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Dolphin and position its window somewhere in the middle of the screen. 2. From a terminal, run `kdotool search " Dolphin" windowmove 0 0` Actual Results: The window resizes upwards to the top of the screen. Expected Results: The window should move to the top-left corner of the screen and maintain its size.
This is still an issue in Fedora 44, as the latest Fedora release still has kdotool 0.2.1 in the repos. The workaround for now is to manually download the latest kdotool from its github page and use that instead.
