More details in https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-32875 and https://github.com/ultrajson/ultrajson/security/advisories/GHSA-c8rr-9gxc-jprv; fixed in 5.12.0 with https://github.com/ultrajson/ultrajson/commit/486bd4553dc471a1de11613bc7347a6b318e37ea.

It’s not possible to update python-ujson in EPEL8 without an Updates Policy exception due to breaking changes, and the code has diverged so much since the packaged version that the commit that fixed this cannot be straightforwardly backported. In fact, it’s not even clear that the issue exists in such an old version.

I’m not planning to attempt any changes here. Anyone who has an argument or concrete plan otherwise may feel free to reopen this.
