Description anotheruser 2026-03-24 01:16:22 UTC
playing a video i.e Youtube in firefox and switching to fullscreen or leaving fullscreen mode will lock up the session hard!
Might be only reproducible with a NVIDIA GPU

Managed to reprocuce with freetube, but it takes many more attempts. Firefox locks up the session usually on the first or second attempt.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. disable desktop animations 'gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface enable-animations false'
2. start playing a video in firefox i.e youtube
3. switch to fullscreen ( key f )
4. leave fullscreen mode if video is still playing (key f)
5 repeat/ goto step 3 It usually locks pretty quickly

Actual Results:
desktop will freeze hard

Additional Information:
not reproducible with desktop animations enabled (default setting)
Any easy way to speed-up those awful animations?
