Happens everytime I reboot or start the machine. No idea what causes this. I have the following startup apps: conky ulauncher gear lever (flatpak) reporter: libreport-2.17.15 type: CCpp reason: Xwayland killed by SIGABRT journald_cursor: s=3751ee3016ad4c36b4e3af052927cf48;i=54ea4;b=1ed67148dd8948689515250a07b916a6;m=31cb23a;t=65049bf425b0c;x=bb0160ad72e74c88 executable: /usr/bin/Xwayland cmdline: /usr/bin/Xwayland :0 -rootless -noreset -accessx -core -auth /run/user/1000/.mutter-Xwaylandauth.X5I4N3 -listenfd 4 -listenfd 5 -displayfd 6 -initfd 7 -byteswappedclients -enable-ei-portal cgroup: 0::/user.slice/user-1000.slice/user/session.slice/org.gnome.Shell rootdir: / uid: 1000 kernel: 6.19.13-200.fc43.x86_64 package: xorg-x11-server-Xwayland-24.1.10-1.fc43 runlevel: /bin/sh: line 1: runlevel: command not found backtrace_rating: 4
For me xorg-x11-server-Xwayland-24.1.10-1.fc43.x86_64.rpm is also crashing After booting Xwayland-24.1.10 I cannot open x windows, e.g. running "xclock" in a terminal hangs and does not open a window. Just in case anybody else notices that symptom. Downgrading to the previous xorg-x11-server-Xwayland-24.1.8-2.fc43.x86_64.rpm does not crash any more, but is not really desirable as I understand there were some CVEs. # journalctl -b 0 [...] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5191]: X Wayland crashed; attempting to recover Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) Backtrace: Apr 27 10:50:30 volker audit[5767]: ANOM_ABEND auid=1000 uid=1000 gid=1000 ses=3 subj=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:xserver_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 pid=5767 comm="Xwayland" exe="/usr/bin/X> Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 0: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x18153e) [0x555bbd13953e] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 1: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x181645) [0x555bbd139645] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 2: /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x7fa158c0d000+0x1a290) [0x7fa158c27290] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 3: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x2ecaa) [0x555bbcfe6caa] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 4: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0xf1665) [0x555bbd0a9665] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 5: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0xf5f15) [0x555bbd0adf15] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 6: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x87895) [0x555bbd03f895] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 7: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x2c9e0) [0x555bbcfe49e0] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 8: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0xd91be) [0x555bbd0911be] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 9: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0xd0322) [0x555bbd088322] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 10: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x94991) [0x555bbd04c991] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 11: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x9d914) [0x555bbd055914] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 12: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x14d84) [0x555bbcfccd84] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 13: /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x7fa158c0d000+0x35b5) [0x7fa158c105b5] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 14: /lib64/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0x88) [0x7fa158c10668] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) 15: /usr/bin/Xwayland (0x555bbcfb8000+0x16755) [0x555bbcfce755] Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) Segmentation fault at address 0x40 Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: Fatal server error: Apr 27 10:50:30 volker gnome-shell[5767]: (EE) Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). This is https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/work_items/1886 fixed with https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/merge_requests/2190 upstream. Will release xwayland-24.1.11 to address that issue (and others).
