I just updated to current devel packages and rebooted. I've got gnome-panel-2.19.4-1.fc8 and metacity-2.19.21-1.fc8. There are no icons in my panel for my windows. When I iconify a window, the iconification animation goes toward the bottom right side of the screen (where my notification area is, although that may be coincidental), but no icon is actually created. Restarting gnome-panel and metacity do not solve the problem. The only way I have to get to an iconified application is with Alt-Tab. Very annoying.
Does adding a Window List to a panel resolve the issue?
Nope, here's what happens when I try: Error "Window List" has quit unexpectedly If you reload a panel object, it will automatically be added back to the panel. [Don't Reload] [Reload]
With current raw hide, I appear to be able to add back the window list to my panel, so I guess this is no longer an issue.
Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported during the development of Fedora 8. In order to refocus our efforts as a project we are changing the version of this bug to '8'. If this bug still exists in rawhide, please change the version back to rawhide.
