I experienced this just once, on a slow machine (Lenovo ThinkCentre M58p with 16 GiB RAM). When installing from Fedora-Workstation-Live-44-1.7.x86_64.iso, I was running "top" in a VT while the installer was running, in the hope of preventing a graphical hang which had previously happened while installing F43 Gold. It apparently worked, since the GUI said the install was complete, but the logs in /tmp were still truncated. (See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2442147#c37 ). So it seems that the logs may need to be "flushed" (similar to fflush()?). Attaching logs from the install where the GUI said install complete. They look just like the logs from my earlier bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2442147 where the GUI hung. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try installing F44 Gold from Fedora-Workstation-Live-44-1.7.x86_64.iso on slow machine. Actual Results: Logs in /tmp are truncated. The GUI may or may not show install completed, but I've seen one instance where the logs are truncated even when the GUI says the install is complete. Expected Results: Logs in /tmp should show completed install. Additional Information: Apparently there's no easy way to debug Firefox, so the graphical hang in the installer is hard to debug. I'm guessing that figuring out why the logs are truncated should be much easier. If that's fixed, people could reliably determine if the install is complete. Right now there's no way to do that.
