Description of problem: I don't know what caused it. SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/pcscd from 'getattr' accesses on the filesystem /dev/pts. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that pcscd should be allowed getattr access on the pts filesystem by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # ausearch -c 'pcscd' --raw | audit2allow -M my-pcscd # semodule -X 300 -i my-pcscd.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:pcscd_t:s0 Target Context system_u:object_r:devpts_t:s0 Target Objects /dev/pts [ filesystem ] Source pcscd Source Path /usr/bin/pcscd Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages pcsc-lite-2.4.1-2.fc44.x86_64 Target RPM Packages SELinux Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-44.1-1.fc44.noarch Local Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-44.1-1.fc44.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Permissive Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 6.19.14-300.fc44.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu Apr 23 15:17:50 UTC 2026 x86_64 Alert Count 4 First Seen 2026-05-08 13:47:30 BST Last Seen 2026-05-09 03:40:21 BST Local ID f64bb508-71a9-4642-bd07-8bfc4a01751a Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1778294421.382:11002): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=3195 comm="pcscd" name="/" dev="devpts" ino=1 scontext=system_u:system_r:pcscd_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:devpts_t:s0 tclass=filesystem permissive=1 type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1778294421.382:11002): arch=x86_64 syscall=fstatfs success=yes exit=0 a0=10 a1=7fb5ee134150 a2=4 a3=8804 items=0 ppid=1 pid=3195 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm=pcscd exe=/usr/bin/pcscd subj=system_u:system_r:pcscd_t:s0 key=(null) Hash: pcscd,pcscd_t,devpts_t,filesystem,getattr Version-Release number of selected component: selinux-policy-targeted-44.1-1.fc44.noarch Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.17.15 reason: SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/pcscd from 'getattr' accesses on the filesystem /dev/pts. package: selinux-policy-targeted-44.1-1.fc44.noarch component: selinux-policy hashmarkername: setroubleshoot type: libreport kernel: 6.19.14-300.fc44.x86_64 event_log: 2026-05-09-04:35:42> Looking for similar problems in bugzilla comment: I don't know what caused it. component: selinux-policy
