Description Jon Weiser 2026-06-30 14:45:57 UTC
Disclaimer: Community trackers are created by Red Hat Product Security team on a best effort basis. Package maintainers are required to ascertain if the flaw indeed affects their package, before starting the update process.

brace-expansion through 5.0.6 is vulnerable to denial of service. The expand() function exhibits exponential-time complexity in the number of consecutive non-expanding '{}' brace groups. An attacker who passes a crafted string to expand(), directly or transitively, can cause significant CPU consumption and event-loop blocking. The max option does not mitigate this, as it bounds the output size rather than the recursion work.

nodejs20 is no longer supported by upstream, as it reached it's End-of-Life. We do not plan to release any more updates for it. Users are advised to migrate to a newer release (nodejs22, nodejs24).
