This is a tracking bug for Change: Sequoia %openpgpverify For more details, see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Sequoia_openpgpverify Introduce a rpm macro %openpgpverify and update packages to use it instead of existing gnupg specific %gpgverify. The new macro will use a standard OpenPGP implementation from Sequoia instead of GnuPG by default to provide support for Post Quantum Cryptography as defined in the OpenPGP WG. This is part of a gradual switching from GnuPG as dependency. If you encounter a bug related to this Change, please do not comment here. Instead create a new bug and set it to block this bug.
The package is available in Fedora 45 and rawhide for testing. Packaging guidelines is in progress: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/packaging/guidelines/pulls/1562 I started switching some of the packages to use openpgpverify already, for exmaple: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/libgcrypt/c/f0004ea204d701d5099c7f3519de445abd6511b1
Packaging guidelines change was merged. I did not get any significant feedback to the current state of openpgpverify macro so I will build it in the older fedora versions now. Considering done. Migrating packages would be another thing I plan to do in coming days.
