Description Andrey Motoshkov 2026-08-31 11:08:46 UTC
1. Please describe the problem:
Laptop built-in camera isn't detected

2. What is the Version-Release number of the kernel:
7.2.1-300.fc45.x86_64

3. Did it work previously in Fedora? If so, what kernel version did the issue
*first* appear? Old kernels are available for download at
   https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=8 :
Worked in F44

4. Can you reproduce this issue? If so, please provide the steps to reproduce
   the issue below:
Boot and run: cam -l

5. Does this problem occur with the latest Rawhide kernel? To install the
Rawhide kernel, run ``sudo dnf install fedora-repos-rawhide`` followed by
   ``sudo dnf update --enablerepo=rawhide kernel``:

6. Are you running any modules that not shipped with directly Fedora's kernel?:
nvidia,v4l2loopback built from akmod

7. Please attach the kernel logs. You can get the complete kernel log
   for a boot with ``journalctl --no-hostname -k > dmesg.txt``. If the
issue occurred on a previous boot, use the journalctl ``-b`` flag.

Thank you for reporting the issue.

Can you please try the rawhide kernel?

Comment 3 Kate Hsuan 2026-09-01 02:53:11 UTC
I think the issue is here
[ 7.299665] intel_cvs i2c-INTC10E0:00: No quirks for device (VID:0x2ac1 PID:0x20d1)

The upstream supports "VID:0x2ac1 PID:0x20d0" Lattice NX33 but I haven't found the vid and pid are listed in the cvs driver.

Can you please upload the "lsusb" results?

I can make a test build for it to see if it works or not.

The test build can be found here
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=149739485

Hope 0x20d0 is similar to 0x20d1. I added the device quirk according to 0x20d0.

Comment 6 Andrey Motoshkov 2026-09-02 11:14:58 UTC
the fix is working - camera is detected and produces image.

Comment 7 Andrey Motoshkov 2026-09-02 12:02:35 UTC
image is upside-down, already opened: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2510889

Comment 8 Kate Hsuan 2026-09-03 13:39:46 UTC
Awesome.

Thank you for the testing.

I'll prepare a patch and send it to the upstream.
For the upside-down issue, I'll propose a new test build for you to test and I'll post the URL in bz2510889.
