I ran sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever 45 in a Fedora 44 KDE installation. The following error with openssl-devel-engine was one of the problems which prevented the upgrade from continuing. Problem 2: installed package openssl-devel-engine-1:3.5.8-1.fc44.x86_64 requires openssl-devel(x86-64) = 1:3.5.8-1.fc44, but none of the providers can be installed - openssl-devel-1:3.5.8-1.fc44.x86_64 does not belong to a distupgrade repository - problem with installed package Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot a Fedora 44 KDE installation 2. Log in to Plasma 3. Start Konsole 4. sudo dnf upgrade --refresh 5. sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever 45 Actual Results: openssl-devel-engine-1:3.5.8-1.fc44.x86_64 requires openssl-devel(x86-64) = 1:3.5.8-1.fc44, but none of the providers can be installed Expected Results: No problems should've happened. Additional Information: openssl-devel-engine was removed from openssl in F45 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=3088711 but it still appears to be in openssl3-devel-engine https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=3045411 The dependencies might need to be changed to upgrade openssl-devel-engine to openssl3-devel-engine.
I guess something in F45 should obsolete `openssl-devel-engine`. OpenSSL 4 no longer has engine functionality, and openssl3-devel-engine will depend on openssl3-devel, which will conflict with openssl-devel — so if we marked openssl-devel-engine as replaced by openssl3-devel-engine, you'd end up with a F44 system with (openssl-devel, openssl-devel-engine) attempting to upgrade to F45 with a request to install (openssl-devel, openssl3-devel-engine), leading to an unsolvable conflict.
Not obsolete but conflict, yes. Will do on next rebase if I don't forget
