currently it's not possible to upgrade to F45-beta if gnome-shell-extension-freon is installed on the system. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. dnf install gnome-shell-extension-freon on a f43 or f44 system 2. try upgrading to f45 via 'dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=45' 3. Actual Results: dnf bails out with: Problem 1: problem with installed package - package gnome-shell-extension-freon-2:60-2.fc45.noarch from fedora requires (gnome-shell(api) = 45 or gnome-shell(api) = 46 or gnome-shell(api) = 47 or gnome-shell(api) = 48 or gnome-shell(api) = 49 or gnome-shell(api) = 50), but none of the providers can be installed - gnome-shell-extension-freon-2:60-1.fc44.noarch does not belong to a distupgrade repository - gnome-shell-50.4-1.fc44.x86_64 does not belong to a distupgrade repository Expected Results: system should download f45 rpm archives. Additional Information: I think gnome-shell-extension-freon.noarch 2:61-1.fc45 needs to be pushed to stable, because 'dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=45 --enable-repo updates-testing' works as a workaround.
Proposed as a Blocker for 45-final by Fedora user anotheruser using the blocker tracking app because: upgrade should be possible w/o enabling repo updates-testing or removing gnome-shell-extension-freon before upgrading to f45
The update is here, but has no karma, please provide feedback, so that it can be pushed stable sooner: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2026-7b07ef7fb9
