It is not possible to authenticate to an access point requiring a PSK via gnome-initial-setup. Authentication works as expected when signed in with the newly created user. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora Workstation Live 2. Boot into installed system 3. At the select network step, choose a secured network Actual Results: No prompt for authentication appears, system does not associate with network. Expected Results: Prompt for authentication, system connects to selected network using the given authentication key. Additional Information: Observed with both 20260921.n.0 and 20260924.n.0 composes, though the behavior differs between the two. With 20260921.n.0 connection is not possible, even with the newly created user. In both cases the smoking gun in the log appears to be "no secrets: No agents were available for this request." If gnome-initial-setup uses portals, this might be a dupe of 2537341 (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2537341). Unsecured networks were not tested. WPA-Enterprise was not tested.
Proposed as a Blocker for 45-final by Fedora user nielsenb using the blocker tracking app because: Network connection page of gnome-initial-setup does not withstand a basic functionality test. Violates the [first boot experience criteria](https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_45_Final_Release_Criteria#First_boot_experience).
Forgot to note the network in question is secured with WPA2-Personal.

Can you use `coredumpctl gdb` or abrt to get a full backtrace?
Created attachment 2158656 [details] Backtrace from coredump generated at first boot
Created attachment 2158657 [details] Second backtrace from coredump generated at first boot
(In reply to Adam Williamson (Fedora) from comment #4) > Can you use `coredumpctl gdb` or abrt to get a full backtrace? Apparently I have two coredumps, I have attached backtraces from each.
Discussed in 2026-09-28 blocker review meeting: https://meetbot-raw.fedoraproject.org//blocker-review_matrix_fedoraproject-org/2026-09-28/f45-blocker-review.2026-09-28-16.00.html . We decided to punt (delay the decision): this is certainly potentially a blocker if confirmed, but we want to have more folks test and confirm the problem and get more details.
