akonadi has switched the default database from mysql to sqlite: https://invent.kde.org/pim/akonadi/-/merge_requests/311 Interestingly, sqlite has been the KDE Neon default since 2023 so upstream has already been shipping it in production: https://invent.kde.org/neon/pim/akonadi/-/commit/7539c693328e7ff0e180f96fb87ad3a8a9273e47 Proposed fix: Remove Recommends: akonadi-server-mysql As installers and dnf install recommendations by default, desktop users are unexpectedly getting opted in to this unusual hybrid server/desktop stack. This lightens the package's dependency chain, more importantly reduces the resident memory usage and strengthens the security posture of a standard Plasma desktop install. Users who have an existing mysql database can install akonadi-server-mysql or use the akonadi-db-migrator tool which provides a migration path to the recommended sqlite backend. Reproducible: Always
