Installing F45 beta, the installer stated that the keyboard layout during boot (incl. LUKS decrypt dialog) would be `us-acentos`. I was unable to change the field to another layout. (see screenshot attached). However, after install, the keyboard layout used when entering LUKS passphrase is `DE` (see screenshot attached). This is incoherent. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora 2. During install, in Settings, add German layout, remove EN layout 3. Partitioning dialog will say that us-acentos will be used Actual Results: `DE`layout is used Expected Results: Let anaconda-webui tell the truth...

us-centos is the expected kbd layout when 'us, de' xkb layouts are chosen via gnome settings. I assume you changed the keyboard selection after you clicked `Next` in the WebUI Wizard, presumably while being on the Encryption screen. In gnome (aka workstation) there is not any API that we can listen to if keyboard selection changed in Settings [1]. Currently there is code in Anaconda WebUI which re-reads the keyboard configuration via gsettings every time the installer window gains focus. This logic only exists though in the first wizard screen. That's why you 're hitting this bug. [1] https://forge.fedoraproject.org/workstation/tickets/issues/430

I think we need more information to know what's going on here. Reporter, did you use Workstation, KDE or another image? At *exactly* what point in install did you change the keyboard configuration? Did you just do it once, or multiple times? What *exactly* did you change the configuration to? I ask, because the only way I can get 'us-acentos' to show up is if I have *both* US and German layouts configured, I never get us-acentos with *only* German layout configured. Thanks!
I've tried a few things here, on Workstation. The only way I can get us-acentos to show on the installer passphrase screen is if I go to Control Center and set the config to us,de . But then, when I complete install and boot, the passphrase entry screen shows 'us' and it *is* a us layout (I set the passphrase to 'qwertyqwerty', so if it was a German layout, typing it would fail). If I set 'de' or 'de,us' in GNOME Control Center, I see 'de' on the installer passphrase screen.

I was trying to reproduce the bug but I was unable to. As expected, the partitioning screen would show me whatever layout I had defined as default. No idea what I did different the other day but I am sure it was showing us-acentos despite having selected DE keyboard and after install it was actually using DE keyboard. This may be NOTABUG.

We decided to punt this to ask for more information and do some independent testing to see if we could reproduce the problem. Are you using Workstation or KDE or another image? Sorry for not answering that question. I am using the Workstation image (Fedora-Workstation-Live-45_Beta-1.3.x86_64.iso). I will give it another shot tomorrow night.

I tried again, but I am currently unable to reproduce the bug.
OK. Since Katerina used it to fix a different issue, let's consider this to be the bug for *that*, drop the blocker proposal, and add an FE proposal. If you reproduce the problem in future, please file a new bug. Thanks!
