Description Alexander Larsson 2026-10-02 13:17:45 UTC
As seen in by the failure in https://github.com/bootc-dev/bootc/pull/2527 bootc is currently using the chain module, which is built in on x84 and not on aarch64. We're looking at installing the external module on aarch64 as needed for this. However maybe it would make sense to include this on aarch64 as well?

Reproducible: Always

Comment 1 Alexander Larsson 2026-10-02 14:59:25 UTC
The chain module is going to be needed by anyone using grub to boot a UKI, which seems to be where everything is heading. So, it makes sense for this to be built in.

Indeed it makes sense. I will include it.

Alexander, I have proposed https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/grub2/pull-request/267 which is rawhide.
I believe F45 would be a nice addition, correct?

That lgtm, and yes, would be nice to have in f45.
