Disclaimer: Community trackers are created by Red Hat Product Security team on a best effort basis. Package maintainers are required to ascertain if the flaw indeed affects their package, before starting the update process. ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32, delegate symlink cleanup does not check the MAGICK_SHRED_PASSES environment variable, allowing a local privileged workflow to overwrite a file with random data. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2-32.
The reported vulnerability was fixed upstream in ImageMagick 7.1.2-32 or an earlier release. Fedora 43 stable provides ImageMagick-7.1.2.32-1.fc43, which includes the fix.
