In RC2 ftp kickstart (regular ftp mode is fine), 'alias eth0 driver' is not written to /etc/modules.conf. This can be very annoying, and IMO should be fixed if possible. The same kind of bug happened with RHL62 release version, on regular ftp installs, so I doubt it's completely new.
This happens whether or not 'device eth0 driver' is defined in ks.cfg.
This defect considered MUST-FIX (show-stopper) for Florence Gold
Just curious, what kind of network card do you have? Did you have to load the driver manually with a driver disk? Also, was your kickstart install using a dhcp or static IP network connection?
3c59x. No driver disk. Static IP.
This doesn't happen on the latest internal trees (qa0315.0). I don't know if this has been 'fixed' or if it particular to your machine for some reason. At any rate, it doesn't happen on our machines here. Resolving as worksforme. Please reopen if the problem reappears in the future.
I think this is tied to the bug Erik fixed.
