I have installed Redhat7 (workstation) on my Compaq Presario 2100 and I am
unable to get Linux to boot. The screen freezes during the boot process
and I get the following error message:

I too am a newbie and am seeing the same problem with an almost identical
configuration.

I am also experiencing this boot problem using the LILO boot floppy. You can reference
ticket 202247 for my contact info.

I have an ASUS CUV4X-D motherboard, P-III/1.0GHz processor, 2.0GB of PC133 RAM,
WD 20GB hard drive, one CDROM on IDE, one CDRW on SCSI i/f (Adaptect 2940UW),
100MB ZIP on IDE, floppy, PCI sound card, PCI ethernet card, AGP graphics card, etc.

I have downgraded to 1.0GB RAM upon suggestion of RH support. I have reconfigured
to a 133MB boot partition upon suggestion of RH support. I am configuring a 1GB
swap partition, a 1.6GB root partiont, and a 4.0GB /usr2 partition. Install progresses
fine but end result will not boot from either LILO floppy or from hard drive.

Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of
the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem
persists.
