Description Jeffrey C. Ollie 2007-10-30 15:33:56 UTC
I'd like to request that perl-Lockfile-Simple be branched for EL-5 as another
package that I'd like to use (and possibly package once I get the kinks worked
out) requires it. The package is RANCID <http://www.shrubbery.net/rancid/>.
I'm willing to co-maintain the package if you'd like (FAS username jcollie).

I can branch perl-Lockfile-Simple for EPEL. No problem there.

But packaging rancid is not going to work, been there myself:

## This software may be freely copied, modified and redistributed
## without fee for non-commerical purposes provided that this license
## remains intact and unmodified with any RANCID distribution.

Note the "non-commercial" purposes in the rancid license.

Comment 4 Jeffrey C. Ollie 2007-10-30 18:36:55 UTC
Andreas, thanks for branching this so quickly! I hadn't seen the non-commercial
use clause thanks for pointing that out. I'll probably keep packaging RANCID
for personal use and having all the deps ready to go in EL-5 will make things
simpler. Too bad the RANCID developers added the non-commercial clause, having
RANCID in Fedora would have been nice.

epel rpms have been built, closing.
