Have you installed Fedora? If yes, could you try this last version from http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=23359 please? Couple of reporters claimed that it got better with that.
ok i actually installed F8 (not livecd) and everything is as expected
Thanks for letting us know.
i see it again... My main account has not this problem. But i created another account to the same system and firefox fonts are again smaller.

does renaming your ~/.mozilla folder in the main account and restarting firefox helps? Behdadh, do you think this has any relationship to bug 240959?
Reporter, could you please reply to the previous question? If you won't reply in one month, I will have to close this bug as INSUFFICIENT_DATA. Thank you.
your suggestion did not make any difference. I still try to see what happens... A fresh install of fedora 8 showed me that the problem is present. On first login to a user account firefox fonts are clearly smaller. Then i apply all updates and firefox fonts getting bigger (on a second login), but on a close look they are still smaller compared to other gnome applications.
Could you check in the Advanced Font properties of Gnome and Font settings of firefox that you have exactly same value of dpi?
At this point, we're going to only be taking security fixes and major stability fixes into this release of Fedora. However, we still want to ensure the bug is fixed in the next version. We'd appreciate if you could test Firefox 3, available at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html or now shipping as the default in Fedora rawhide and provide feedback as to whether it still exists so we can file a ticket upstream to try to fix it in Firefox 3 before it is released.
oops, i forgot about this bug. So i tried again to see what happens Here we go: a)create a new user and log in this new account b)desktop dpi is not ok. By default it sets 86dpi (too small for my screen ) c) firefox fonts are certainly smaller compared to other GNOME apps c)set manually dpi to 96dpi d)restart firefox e)firefox fonts are inline with other apps So is this a dpi auto setting thing?
We found that this bug has been already registered in the upstream database (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414427) and believe that it is more appropriate to let it be resolved upstream. Red Hat will continue to track the issue in the centralized upstream bug tracker, and will review any bug fixes that become available for consideration in future updates. Thank you for the bug report.
