Description Michael A. Peters 2007-12-06 04:15:41 UTC
Description of problem:
This is really petty, but it would be nice if libgsf-devel could provide
libgsf-gnome-devel.

It seems to have the same files as the fedora 8 subpackage, but in the main
devel package instead of split off.

It would just make things easier when rebuilding some fedora src.rpm in RHEL.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
[mpeters@jerusalem ~]$ rpm -qf /usr/lib/pkgconfig/libgsf-gnome-1.pc
libgsf-devel-1.14.1-6.1

- on F8 system -
yum provides /usr/lib/pkgconfig/libgsf-gnome-1.pc
libgsf-gnome-devel.i386

Additional info:
Really minor, just maybe think about it next time you rebuild?

Comment 1 Caolan McNamara 2007-12-06 08:45:00 UTC
It was split like that in F8 to support the OLPC requirements for more granular
packages. It'll be like that in RHEL-6 as well, but for the RHEL perspective I
see it as a super minor enhancement.

We generally don't mess around splitting packages that are already pushed into a
stable release during an update so its not going to happen casually as part of a
potential libgsf update.
