Issue still exists as of Fedora 9. I would be grateful if it was fixed.
any updates on this?
For what it's worth, this behavior exists outside of Fedora. I'm running Slackware 11 and I get the $ signs instead of check marks on the Ohio 2008 income tax form. You can download the fillable version of the form at <http://tax.ohio.gov/documents/forms/ohio_individual/individual/2008/PIT_1040EZ_2008_SFI.pdf>. In cases like this (taxes - one of the two certainties in life) I'd say that the priority should be somewhat higher than "low". Of all characters to appear randomly on my tax return, why does it have to be a dollar sign!? I'll add a screenshot for good measure.
Created attachment 337269 [details] Evince displays $ signs in checkboxes rather than checks.
I should also mention that I'm running evince 2.26.0 using poppler 0.10.5 with cairo.
well. any updates?

Not sure if that is really a duplicate of bug 468565, as I see two different problems: In some documents boxes can't be checked at all, in other documents a '$' is shown instead of an 'X'.
