Description Keith Roberts 2007-12-16 19:50:59 UTC
Feature Request:

Please could we have the following Kate plugin added to kdeaddons:

http://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=129439

It is a full-featured PHP debugger GUI, that supports the DBG and Xdebug PHP
modules. I have got the stand-alone protoeditor PHP debugger working, but cannot
get the Kate plugin going yet.

While we don't doubt this plugin is useful, the right place to get things added
to KDE packages is upstream in KDE. Also be aware that a KDE 4 port will be
needed, Fedora 9 will ship with the KDE 4 version of Kate (not the KDE 3 one),
and KDE upstream also isn't likely to accept additions to KDE 3 at this point,
especially not without a KDE 4 version. (If ported to KDE 4 and accepted there,
it will end up in kdesdk or in extragear (possibly extragear for 4.0 and kdesdk
for 4.1), the kdeaddons module no longer exists in KDE 4.)

If you think this plugin is a useful addition to Fedora even while not in
kdeaddons, you are welcome to submit it for review as a separate package. See:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/Join

It can also be added to our wishlist:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/KDE#head-8482e5f52583617ce25a658ff3bc2e5db431d7c6
However, the fastest and most reliable way to get a package in is to submit it
yourself.
