Maybe the bug is related to this https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=250299 bug? At least the bug #250299 still exists in Fedora 8, because I have the problem described in bug #250299 with Fedora 8 (x86_64).

The problem still exists in Fedora 10. memtest from installation DVD detects only 3.2GB out of 4. Same with grub after system is installed. The same issue exists on i386 platform.
Fedora 8 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2009-01-07. Fedora 8 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates.
