Description of problem:

After a fresh install of rawhide-20080121, the mixer applet in the GNOME panel
defaults to the Microphone volume instead of PCM.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.21.4-3.fc9

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a fresh user account and log into GNOME.
2. Right click mixer app speaker icon and select "Preferences"
3. Note that "Microphone" is selected. Change to "PCM"

Lenovo ThinkPad T61, Intel graphics, HDA Intel (Alsa mixer)
