Spec URL: http://kairo.freeshell.org/devel/fedora/openntpd/openntpd.spec SRPM URL: http://kairo.freeshell.org/devel/fedora/openntpd/openntpd-3.9p1-1.fc8.src.rpm Description: Openntpd is a free, easy to use implementation of the network time protocol. It provides the ability to sync the local clock to remote NTP servers and can act as NTP server itself, redistributing the local clock. http://www.openntpd.org
Why is this significantly better than the current ntpd? Upstream (the portable version) appears to be dead.
Bill, I look for this as an alternative implementation of the NTP software. The version portable is the same non-portable version. If the project has no any interest, the ticket can be closed.
I'm just curious - as to the portable/non-portable version - the non-portable version appears to be at version 4.2 (see ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/OpenNTPD/), with 3.9 approaching 2 years old.
Bill, I created confusion. Sorry. In contact with a developer of the project BSD he said that the versions depend on external contrib. Usually does not occur in the same time. I think it is not a good package for the Project. Please close this ticket. Again, Sorry
