Well, not much to go on here, but... can you provide a few more details? What video hardware/driver are you using? Are you enabling kwin compositing? (I ask because this sounds more like an X issue atm).
I am using kwin compositing with an ati-radeon 9600se and radeon driver, this never occurs when using gnome with the desktop effect enabled.
Afaict, kwin compositing does more than compiz (uses more hw accel, features). OK, please report your findings upstream to bugs.kde.org. That's the best way to get the needed info into the (upstream) devs to make a difference here.
the bug seems to be fixed after an update of the kde-workspace package. but to be sure i will try to reproduce the bug during the next two days.
We didn't change anything in kdebase-workspace which would be likely to fix this issue. Maybe it was an X11/driver upgrade which fixed it?
