Boot with kudzu present - PS/2 mouse dead. rpm -e kudzu. Boot and PS/2
mouse works just fine.

100% repeatable

ugh.

a) is the mouse actually detected?
b) if you rebuild with -DDEBUG_PS2_PROBE, where does it go wrong?

b) Will try and schedule some time to find out but Im on jury service for the
next two weeks

Works in the current beta, dunno what when who or how it got fixed 8)
