Description of problem: pirut displays multiple, sometimes outdated, versions of the same package. This behaviour should be optional. This makes it confusing when choosing packages from long list views and it can lead to unresolved-dependency issues if interdepenent packages across different versions are selected for install. It also necessitates a software update immediately after install just to be sure. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): pirut-1.3.28-1.fc8 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start pirut. 2. Go to list view. Actual results: Multiple versions of packages. Expected results: Only the latest version displayed.
This isn't going to get changed at this point as pirut is pretty much entirely EOL'd and only getting critical fixes for older releases. In Fedora 9 and later, any such concerns can be filed against PackageKit/gnome-packagekit.
