Description Carl Preddy 2008-03-07 14:34:21 UTC
Description of problem:
In prior kernel 2.6.23.15-137 Vmware Server 2beta will compile and configure.
After yum installs 2.6.24.3-12 the vmware-configure.pl process fails at the
first compile (vmmon module) with errors shown in attachment. Retroing the
kernel restores operation.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.24.3-12.fc8

How reproducible: 100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot to new kernel
2. As root : vmware-config.pl -d
3. Fails with errors shown in attachment

Actual results: VMware host will not run

Expected results: VMWare host runs as in prior half-dozen kernel updates, which
was not perfect but at least usable.

Additional info: This is VMWare Server 2 Build 63231 used as received, GCC is
4.1.2 Redhat build. /usr/src/kernel/* is present
