Description Anton Blanchard 2008-03-17 05:19:48 UTC
Description of problem:

I ran opannotate -a on a ppc64 FC9 install and it hit the following binutils
assertion:

/usr/bin/ld: BFD 2.17 Debian GNU/Linux internal error, aborting at
../../bfd/elf64-ppc.c line 10571 in ppc64_elf_relocate_section

Discussion of a fix is at:

http://sourceware.org/ml/binutils/2008-02/msg00099.html

I'll update the bug when a fix is committed to binutils.

Your binutils don't seem to be Fedora ones, but Debian.
binutils-2.18.50.0.4-2 that used to be in rawhide until recently had the
msg00099.html patch applied already, and so does the current 2.18.50.0.6-1.
