You seem to mix v1.3 plugins with an 1.4 audacious, this can not work.
Can you give me the output of
rpm -q audacious-plugins
Comment 2 Ian Chapman 2008-03-24 16:39:58 EDT
Sure, it shows:

I noticed this includes pulse_audio.so, whereas libpulse_audio.so is part of
audacious-plugins-pulseaudio. Im guessing then that audacious-plugins-pulseaudio
should have been superceeded maybe audacious-plugins.

audacious-plugins-pulseaudio-1.3.5-3.fc8 still appears to be in the repo though
so at some point it appears that both have been installed. I've just tried to
install audacious-plugins-pulseaudio on another machine and it says
audacious-plugins-1.4.4-1.fc8 is already installed. So perhaps an artifact of a
yum upgrade at some point?
Comment 3 Ralf Ertzinger 2008-03-24 16:44:20 EDT
Yes, audacious-plugins-pulseaudio was supposed to be obsoleted by a-p when going
to 1.4, as pulseaudio is now included in the main a-p package.

I don't know how this happened, but simply removing audacious-plugins-pulseaudio
should fix things.

No worries, I've removed it and yum correctly refuses to reinstall it, so all is
well. Thanks Ralf.
