Description of problem: Audacious fails to load the pulseaudio plugin and shows the error. Failed to load plugin (/usr/lib/audacious/Output/libpulse_audio.so): /usr/lib/audacious/Output/libpulse_audio.so: undefined symbol: ctrlsocket_get_session_id Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): audacious-plugins-pulseaudio-1.3.5-3.fc8 audacious-1.4.5-1.fc8 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run audacious from the command line, shows the error. 2. 3. Actual results: Plugin doesn't load. Expected results: Plugin should load. Additional info: Probably just needs a rebuild against the current audacious?
You seem to mix v1.3 plugins with an 1.4 audacious, this can not work. Can you give me the output of rpm -q audacious-plugins ?
Sure, it shows: audacious-plugins-1.4.4-1.fc8 I noticed this includes pulse_audio.so, whereas libpulse_audio.so is part of audacious-plugins-pulseaudio. Im guessing then that audacious-plugins-pulseaudio should have been superceeded maybe audacious-plugins. audacious-plugins-pulseaudio-1.3.5-3.fc8 still appears to be in the repo though so at some point it appears that both have been installed. I've just tried to install audacious-plugins-pulseaudio on another machine and it says audacious-plugins-1.4.4-1.fc8 is already installed. So perhaps an artifact of a yum upgrade at some point?
Yes, audacious-plugins-pulseaudio was supposed to be obsoleted by a-p when going to 1.4, as pulseaudio is now included in the main a-p package. I don't know how this happened, but simply removing audacious-plugins-pulseaudio should fix things.
