Actually, this might be more to do with gnome-mount failings: 6339 pts/2 Sl+ 0:00 nautilus 6343 pts/2 Z+ 0:00 [gnome-mount] <defunct>
Does this happen repeatedly?
Also, I'm not sure that just having a gnome-mount zombie is evidence this is a gnome-mount bug. More information is needed - try temporarily removing gnome-mount (or flip the executable bit) or the nautilus-open-terminal extension. Either way, if gnome-mount hangs it shouldn't affect Nautilus as all this happens async. Back to nautilus (but adding myself as Cc).
The problem seems to have gone away with the latest updates. I've re-installed nautilus-open-terminal and nautilus starts up normally. I'll re-open if it recurs.
