Description of problem:
noteboot does not boot with neither most recent F8 update kernel nor F9-Beta kernel

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

working kernel: 2.6.23.1-42.fc8
not working kernel: 2.5.25-0.121.rc5.git4.fc9 

  
Actual results:
does not boot (do not detect hard disk)


Expected results:
detect hard disk and boot

command 0xec (identify device) timed out

Try booting with this kernel option:

  pci=nomsi

pci=nomsi works. I can boot my notebook.

nomsi is now the default
