Description of problem: There is no sound at all with the fedora 9 preview release. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-2.6.25-0.234.rc9.git1.fc9.x86_64 kernel-2.6.25-1.fc9.x86_64 How reproducible: everytime Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot system 2. hear no sound from the computer 3. certify that you're not death by hearing sounds generated by other sources. Actual results: No sound. Expected results: computer should make some noises. Not too much, but at least a few. The problem seems to be in the default mixer option, if I un-mute the "surround" level the sound start working. I don't where or who (witch package) is responsible for the default mixer levels. I think it is not the kernel :-).
