Description Russ Huguley 2008-05-16 15:10:28 UTC
Description of problem:

I get a unable to display this mode from my monitor similer to bug 439609.

My monitor is a 20 inch dell widescreen and the video card is a nvidia 8600. It
worked fine in fc8 and the text based installer in 9 works but the default
resolution that it uses in runlevel 5 is also not usable.

Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided
above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful
in our diagnosis of this issue.

Please attach your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log
file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file
attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link below.

Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf whatsoever and
let X11 autodetect your display and video card? Attach to this bug
/var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt as well, please.

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.

Comment 5 Russ Huguley 2008-05-29 14:34:05 UTC
An update seems to have fixed the current system so the problem was in the
installer version. I attached the requested files. The original Xorg-setup log
has an error in it. The current Xorg log does not have an error.

If you need anything else LMK.

Comment 6 Matěj Cepl 2008-05-30 11:24:37 UTC
OK, thanks for letting us know. So, it was fixed in the upgrade of drivers. If
there will be respin of Fedora 9 (not much likely), it will get a new fixed
driver as well.
