Description of problem: When using fusion-icon with compiz on Fedora Core 9, switching to the emerald window decorator causes there to be no window decorations at all. Switching back to the metacity window decorator brings back window decorations. I am using this on an HP6230 Laptop w/ an onboard ATI card (opensource driver) @ 1024x768 resolution. I found others having the problem along with a possible cause/solution here: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=188814 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): emerald-0.5.2-4.fc9 (i386) How reproducible: Every time I tried to switch to the emerald window decorator. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch fusion-icon 2. Right-click on the fusion-icon, choose "Select Window Decorator"->"Emerald" 3. Repeat step 2 using "GTK Window Decorator" and window titlebars, etc, are restored 4. Repeat step 2 verbatim, problem reoccurs. Actual results: No window decorations w/ emerald using default repository. Expected results: The emerald window decorator should have replaced the window decorations Additional info: I personally have switched to the compiz repository as listed in the forum link above, however, I can easily switch back to reproduce if necessary.
Would be really really nice if this guy with his own repo filed a bloody bug instead of bitching about things in a random forum somewhere. I don't actually use emerald myself, would love to hand off maintainership of it, but haven't found any takers yet... That being the case, people filing bugs is the only way I know something is broken (so thank you for filing the bug, this rant isn't directed at you. :). New emerald 0.7.2 build coming Real Soon Now.
