Description Chris Schembari 2008-05-20 20:28:50 UTC
Description of problem:
This is an error in the Fedora 9 install-guide, not "devel"; this "enter
bug" page wouldn't let me select 9 under Version.
In Section 3.4, the subheadings for subsections "Procedure 3.1"
and "Procedure 3.2" both appear immediately /below/ the procedure that each
should respectively be at the head of; that is, the title saying, "Creating
Bootable USB Media with Windows" mysteriously comes /after/ the numbered
procedure for doing so, and even more mysteriously comes immediately before
the procedure for creating media within Linux, as if one should try to install
the "livecd-tools package" within Windows by typing 'su' at the DOS prompt!
Also, a paragraph ("USB media often comes [...]") and an important-note box
("Unusual USB Media") are both, I think, out of place. The first is an
explanatory paragraph and should logically come before the paragraph starting
with ("To make bootable USB media [...]"); and the note box should logically
still (as it does now) follow directly below the "USB media often comes [...]"
paragraph.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 9

How reproducible: 100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. (Re-)Load page and start reading.
2. Furrow brow.
3. Repeat step 1...

Actual results: "As seen on the Web", at
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/install-guide/f9/en_US/sn-making-media.html

Expected results: See attached file. Its text is corrected, but for some
reason it doesn't have the formatting that the site has. Maybe an external
style sheet?

Additional info: I used Konqueror's "view document source" feature, saved a
local copy, and started editing the file. I know a bit about basic HTML
editing, and I was careful to move just the parts that needed moving; for
example, I left in place the numbered-outline "<ol>" tags, and the "<a>"
links, as they obviously must be referenced on other pages of the guide.

Comment 2 Chris Schembari 2008-05-20 20:34:17 UTC
I forgot to mention at the end of paragraph 2 of the description above that
the line "Procedure 3.2. Creating Bootable USB Media with Linux" then comes
after the procedure it describes, with no text below it.
