"Using samba-2.0.8 works." --> sounds like a samba problem, or a mount problem.
If smbmount works, the kernel-side of things is ok.
Comment 2 Trond Eivind Glomsrxd 2001-06-18 19:38:03 EDT
I can reproduce it, but I'm not sure how to fix it yet.
Comment 3 Trond Eivind Glomsrxd 2001-06-18 19:42:22 EDT
Since smbmount (mount.smbfs) works, it sounds like a mount problem... reassigning.
Comment 4 Trond Eivind Glomsrxd 2001-06-19 17:49:15 EDT
Fixed by samba-2.2.0-3 - the mount.smb and mount.smbfs must be moved to /sbin
