Description of problem: The lam and wipe packages conflict over the file /usr/share/man/man1/wipe.1.gz . Since the lam man page is just a 'use lamwipe instead' message, the wipe package should probably be given this file. I suggest removing this file from the lam package (even if shred(1) from coreutils appear to be the preferred application). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): lam.x86_64 2:7.1.2-11.fc9 wipe.x86_64 0.21-2.fc9 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. yum install lam; yum install wipe 2. 3. Actual results: Transaction Check Error: file /usr/share/man/man1/wipe.1.gz from install of wipe-0.21-2.fc9.x86_64 conflicts with file from package lam-7.1.2-11.fc9.x86_64 Expected results: No conflicts Additional info:
I built an updated lam-7.1.4-1.fc9 package that solves this by keeping the entire lam tree hierarchy under /usr/lib{,64}/lam, including man pages are under /usr/lib{,64}/lam/man and get picked up only when /usr/lib{,64}/lam/bin is in the PATH environment variable, which will only happen if you use the environment-modules module() command to load the /usr/lib{,64}/lam/lam.module module.
lam-7.1.4-1.fc9 has been pushed to the Fedora 9 testing repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. If you want to test the update, you can install it with su -c 'yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update lam'.
