Description Thomas Cameron 2008-06-02 04:05:11 UTC
Description of problem:
I installed a RHEL 5 AP i386 machine. Afterwards I used yum to install bind,
bind-chroot, caching-nameserver and system-config-bind.

I used ssh -Y from a desktop machine with X and ran system-config-bind. I got
the error:

No fonts found; this probably means that the fontconfig
library is not correctly configured. You may need to
edit the fonts.conf configuration file. More information
about fontconfig can be found in the fontconfig(3) manual
page and on http://fontconfig.org

I found RHBA-2008-0396 which indicated that system-config-kdump for RHEL 5 had
been updated to include those required packages to avoid that message. I
installed system-config-kdump and system-config-bind started working. I removed
the prerreqs until it broke again, and figured out it needed bitmap-fonts.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
system-config-bind-4.0.3-2.el5

How reproducible:
yum install system-config-bind on an @ base installed machine. Do not install
bitmap-fonts. ssh -Y in from another Linux machine and fire up
system-config-bind. Get above error.

Actual results:
No fonts found; this probably means that the fontconfig
library is not correctly configured. You may need to
edit the fonts.conf configuration file. More information
about fontconfig can be found in the fontconfig(3) manual
page and on http://fontconfig.org

Expected results:
system-config-bind works
