Is this a duplicate of bug 291461 and therefore fixed as of RHEL 5.3?
This is another bug, where the user pressed "Cancel", while waiting for the interface to come up.
Can not longer reproduce this with system-config-network-1.3.99.23-1.el5. dlg is now checked for NoneType so error dialog with error message should show up.
