1.Applications, System tools, Soundcard detection
2.windows with Audio configuration -> Sound test
3.Did you hear the sample sound? No.
  
Actual results:
I don't hear any sound.

Additional info:Detect: Vendor - Creative; Model - Labs SB X-Fi; Module - ...
are detected correctly.

Sound Blaster X-Fi not working on a particular system.  It was previously installed on an Asus m2r32-mvp with the creative sound blaster ctxfi.ko module loaded.  When I moved it into a new machine with the same kernel 2.6.18-128.el5 it stopped working.  This motherboard is Asus m4a79xtd evo.
