The upgrade to xserver1.5 with the new geode driver introduces a bug: xrandr rotation causes a hard-hang. To reproduce, run "xrandr -o left" This has been fixed in upstream git, please could you backport it into the RPM? http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=xorg/driver/xf86-video-geode.git;a=commitdiff_plain;h=f89f6d8004a0ae0ae7826f72a1058d26e9e0217a;hp=e98927f2c60acd9262cfb6fca2491fe0decc7aa5 This is a release blocker for OLPC: http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/7407 If it is any easier for you, I'd be happy to request commit access to this package and take care of this myself.
Jordan informed me about this on Thursday. We agreed that Fedora will build this after he does a new upstream release of the geode driver.
Jordan isn't releasing for a while yet, is there any chance we can get this patch backported sooner? Or would you prefer that we fork an OLPC-3 branch for this?
Are you sure? He said something about doing a new bugfix release soon for OLPC.
Jordan says that it will be released on Friday
Yes, we're going to put out 2.10.1 with this fix and a fix for DDC on 5535 on 2008-08-15. 2.11.0 is going to have RandR1.2 and will be ready next month, but not in time for the various distro releases, I'm afraid.
2.10.1 is out now, would be nice to see this in Fedora asap. (I realise that the infrastructure is down at the moment)
I made the obvious changes to the spec and scratch-builded at http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=778259 It works great on an XO.
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/xorg-x11-drv-geode/2.10.1/ Please test the exact binaries here.
works fine, thanks!
