This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release. Product Management has requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed products. This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update release. rhythmbox uses stock icons RB_STOCK_TRAY_ICON_PLAYING and RB_STOCK_TRAY_ICON_NOT_PLAYING for the tray icon, which it installs itself. The problem seeing the icon is probably due to all the GType error messages that you saw during startup. Let me know if it still happens with the latest build added to the errata. I still see the same thing with rhythmbox-0.11.6-1.4.el5_2. Created attachment 314221 [details]

Previously the was a "musical note" icon in the notification area when rhythmbox was running. Now it is an "X" on a sheet of paper ("missing icon" icon?). This is in rhythmbox-0.11.6-1.2.el5_2.
